Mr. Miguel Sahid

Director and founder of Sociedad Actoral Hispanoamericana

Miami, Florida U. S.

Dear Miguel and directors of the Hispanic-American Actors Society (SAH). Please receive this formal letter as a congratulatory for the work done by your not for profit organization, established in 2007 in Florida by its founders: Actor Miguel Sahid, and the late actress Nancy Millan Hernandez, who despite not being with us anymore and having waged a brave battle against cancer, left us with a legacy that continues to grow. The Hispanic-American Actors Society is formed by a group of actors, directors, and producers who seek to catapult talented actors, directors, and producers that live in South Florida and thusly contribute to the cultural well being of our Miami-Dade county. Therefore, it is an honor to extend my congratulations on this day for their distinguished work and commitment to the arts both defending and driving the culture of theatre to our community. Once again, congratulations!

Sincerely, David Rivery

Member of the Federal Congress, U.S. FL-District 25

THE DAY OF SOCIEDAD ACTORAL HISPANOAMERICANA

I call upon residents of our county of Miami-Dade to celebrate such deserved honor upon this organization for its contributions to the enrichment of the arts in our community.

Another reason for the inception of this foundation goes back to those difficult days as well, where aside from health challenges, Nancy also witnessed a theatrical recession in which very few theatre companies were active and creating workshops for hundreds of actors whom have made Miami their home. It was at this time that one of the most passionate theatrical productions that has passed through MIami in the last ten years took place with Nancy in the lead role: “Cada Quien Su Vida” (To each her own), by Luis Basurto, under the brand of the Hispanic-American Actors Society (Sociedad Actoral Hispanoamericana). Fortunately, it was possible to schedule the rehearsals for this project without the obstruction of her needed chemotherapy.

Nancy Millan Hernandez was a dedicated artist/actress with an impressive stage presence and command. She was always the subject of favorable critiques in all of her acting endeavors, and above all, she was the smile the brightened the life of countless artists, friends, family, and audiences.

Nancy, Thank you for your dedication and efforts.

Until next time, and always.
