THE HISPANIC ACTING SOCIETY (La Sociedad Actoral Hipanoamericana) (SAH) was established in 2006 as a company comprised of an idealistic and organized group of actors, directors and producers. We strive to carry on the tradition of theater as an indispensable form of storytelling that serves to inspire, challenge, empower, and educate. We believe it is important to consciously seek to enliven each and every piece we perform with creativity, truth, and relativity. By doing so, we hope to rekindle the public’s appreciation of theatre and to further enrich the lives of our audience members and those involved in the collaborative process.
The multi-award-winning Sociedad Actoral Hispanoamericana has received more than 100 awards throughout its existence. The company born in Miami and better known as the SAH, has been recognized by the United States Congress as one of the most influential Spanish-speaking companies in the nation, among others CONGRATULATIONS!
The One Year Conservatory follows the same course of study (SAH Certificate Program). With 5 to 8 hours of workshops per week, this program emphasizes the fundamental aspects of The Method while ensuring concentrated but broad-based instruction in voice, movement, and theatre history. Upon successful completion of this program, and if the necessary requirements have been fulfilled, students can apply their coursework and advance workshop .
We are very proud and happy to share with you that 2016 marks our first Decade preparing actors and creating & transmitting the magic of theater to thousands and thousands of people in Miami and many other cities. In our ten years of existence, we have held many acting workshops in Miami, Orlando, Naples, Chicago, New York, Bogota – Colombia, San Juan – Puerto Rico, and Madrid –Spain.
